The Real Jazz Dent

I was very surprised at the end to find out that it was Jazz who killed his mom. However, this does tie the rest of the book together. Perhaps the whole time Jazz wanted to hunt down the serial killer not because he wanted to prove that he is different from his father, but to get rid of some of his own guilt. Although Jazz was forced to kill his mom, he still did it. Some part of him remembers this action. Maybe Jazz is more like his father than he is willing to admit. I am curious to see if Jazz becomes like his father in the sequel.
