The Novel Overall
The novel had a slow start, just some boy trying to get a piece of the action in a mysterious case. Eventually it got more interesting and complex; the middle and end of the book make up for the lack of interest in the beginning. With the story being told in an uncommon point of view and the sophisticated life of Jasper Dent, the novel has a lot of uniqueness and revolves in a world of confusion, pain and frustration. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they claim to not be a fan of this genre because it has a very individual approach on how the story unfolds and how the main character approaches the problem.
