In the novel, it says that Jazz was pretty popular before Billy got caught for murder. My question is though, how did Jazz act in school? Wouldn't he be taught at school that killing is wrong, at in the least bit different from the other kids? I know he was trained to act cunning and everything, but I'm pretty sure that Jazz would listen to what the school was teaching him if he went to school.
Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

It's likely that he did, followed the rules and all. He probably heeded the rules, not make it clear that he was not suspicious and not found. Although different, he was accepted in some kind of way. Before Billy Dent's arrest, I'm guessing that Jazz was too afraid of his father - that he'd cut him up, but committing that kind of crime would raise suspicions. He seems like the kind of kid who acts cool, the typical - well respected kid amongst his peers and society. He most likely joked about it but never tried to do it.
